how to set it up.

Setting up Zeno should take just a few minutes. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Step 1

install legs.

Unfold the Zeno pod, and find the steel legs. Look for the holes around the base of the pod - there should be six altogether. Insert the rounded end of the legs into the holes, and push the legs as far as possible.

step 2

find a spot.

Place the Zeno pod onto a stable surface. Optionally, adjust leg height if needed - e.g.: you are setting up the pod in the garden, where the ground is somewhat uneven.

Step 3

the rings.

Inflate the rings of the pod and thermal lid with the supplied pump. Inflating the pod's ring will make cold plunging more comfortable (you can rest your head), and inflating the thermal lid will help with insulation (keeping your water cold for longer).

step 4

fill it up.

Fill the pod with water and optionally add ice. We recommend filling Zeno to roughly 70% capacity.

step 5

cold plunge.

Time to dip in. For beginners plunging in temperature 59°F - 50°F we recommend staying in for roughly 10-15 minutes per session.

For advanced plungers using colder water we recommend reducing the time spent in the water. For example:

38°F = 3 minutes;
41°F = 5 minutes;
45°F = 7 minutes;
48°F = 9 minutes.

Please keep in mind that these are just generalized numbers, we recommend gradual progress.

optional step

install chiller.

In case you purchased our chiller/heater called Poseidon, or you already have an ice bath chiller, find out how to connect it to the Zeno pod.

usage notes

Some tips to make the most of your experience.

thermal lid.

Insert the thermal lid under the ring of the Zeno pod to reserve the water temperature for longer.

all weather cover.

Use the All Weather Cover to keep bugs, dust and leaves out of the pod. We recommend putting it on after use, and since we added an extra layer of insulation to this cover, it will help keep your water colder too.

clean water.

To keep the water crystal clear over the long haul, consider throwing in either salt or hydrogen peroxide.

If you decide by the salt solution, use raw sea salt or epsom salt and mix in around 1 pound per full tub of water. We estimate the water to be clean for 2-4 weeks with this solution.

For hydrogen peroxide (HP), we recommend using 35% food-grade HP. Pour around 4oz every time you drain/clean out the water; which we recommend doing every 3-7 days.

Above quantities advised for one ice bath user, taking a cold plunge almost every day. If more people regularly use the ice bath, the above quantities should be slightly increased.

Alternatively, you can opt in for an AlphaTank Poseidon water chiller that also has a built-in filtration system, keeping your ice bath clean for months at a time.

To drain the water, simply open the bottom valve (optionally using the drain hose) and let the water pour out. Tip the pod sideways to finish completely emptying the water out of the pod.

WARNING!

Before using an ice bath, it is crucial to consult your healthcare provider, especially if you have underlying health conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that the use of AlphaTank products is safe and appropriate for you. DO NOT USE if you have any underlying health concerns or health risks, are pregnant, under 18 years of age, have a pacemaker or a history of heart complications, heart disease, epilepsy, high blood pressure, recently had surgery, have open wounds or lesions, have experienced frostbite, neuropathy or retinal damage. Submerging in cold water can drastically reduce your body's central temperature as it causes your blood vessels to tighten and blood flow to decrease. This may increase blood pressure and raise the risk of cardiac arrest or stroke, especially if there are existing health concerns. Potential side effects of ice baths include, but are not limited to, rapid or irregular heartbeat, the immediate sensation of intense cold, allergic or anaphylactic shock, along with the risk of hypothermia, and frostbite. We strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider and starting with short sessions (just a few minutes in the ice bath), gradually increasing the duration over time, without pushing your body beyond its limits. AlphaTank shall not be held liable and does not take any responsibility for any injuries, accidents, complications or property damage, including but not limited to water damage, resulting from the use of the AlphaTank products. It is your responsibility to take precautions while filling the ice bath products to check for air and water leaks. Please make sure to only fill these products with water in locations with sufficient drainage possibilities. Do not use AlphaTank indoors or on balconies, all AlphaTank products are designed for outdoor use only on solid ground or grass.

Don't let any children, or adults vulnerable to drowning, alone or in close proximity with any of our ice bath products, even if these products are not water-filled. Keep electronic devices away from the water.
